Our
in-house restaurant and bar "Carriages" is located in
the lower ground floor of the hotel.
Both the restaurant and bar are extremely popular with locals and residents
alike and are well known for providing excellent food using fresh local
produce and offering a splendid selection of real ales, all hand poured.
Both venues provide a very relaxed and intimate atmosphere.
Our restaurant is open for dinner from 6pm nightly and booking is recommended. The A la Carte menu changes approximately every six weeks, with our specials changing weekly.
All diets are catered for and, with notice, we are happy to prepare your favourite dish should it not be on the menu. A sample menu is listed for your information.
Lunches are served in the Lounge Bar from a hot buffet. The choice of dishes changes daily.
Our bar is decorated in Victorian style and offers 10 real ales, 4 draught lagers, draught Guinness, cider and 2 Scottish keg beers. We also have an excellent selection of Malt Whiskys and offer several wines by the glass, together with a carefully selected wine list. We hopefully can satisfy all palates.
Carriages Bar has been awarded "City Pub of the Year" several times by CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) and we are sure you will agree with their findings and sample some of our ten ales on tap.
