From the south, follow the motorway network
to Perth. Choose between the Deeside Tourist Route (A93),
the dual carriageway trunk route (A90) or the picturesque coastal
route (A92) from Dundee, or continue
north on the A9 to the A95 and arrive in the region via Strathspey.

From
the west, take the A9/A95, the A96 from Inverness or the Highland
Tourist Route over the Lecht and through Upper Donside (A939/A944).
On tourist routes follow the distinctive brown and white thistle signs.

Aberdeen and Inverness are the main rail termini
for the area, with direct services from London Kings Cross, Edinburgh,
Glasgow, North Scotland and most points between, operated by Scotrail,
GNER and Virgin
Trains. Services from London include sleepers and there are good
rail connections to the area from all the mainland stations.
Aberdeen railway station is situated on Guild Street, in the city
centre, adjacent to the main bus station.

Highlands towns are served by long distance coaches from almost
all parts of England, Wales and Scotland. Aberdeen Bus Station is
located at Guild Street, which is in the city centre, and adjacent
to the railway station.
